How do I schedule an appointment? To schedule an appointment, visit our Services page and search for the service you need. After selecting a service, click "Schedule Now" and follow the instructions. Please have your provider fax us a copy of the requisition form (lab order) once you have scheduled an appointment so we can assign a phlebotomist to your case. The fax number is (971) 777-7270 Note: Appointments are scheduled online using the first-come-first-served principle.

Which laboratory will do the actual testing?Laboratory tests are conducted by the lab listed on your order. Otherwise, you can choose the lab you want to handle them. After we draw your blood, we deliver the specimens and paperwork to the specified lab. The process is the same as having your blood drawn at a physician's office or visiting a patient service center, but more convenient. We currently work with the following labs: LabCorp Legacy Providence Quest Kaiser Kashi OHSU Please contact us if you do not see your preferred lab listed. Note: LabCorp is no longer open on Saturday in Portland. We will deliver your samples to Legacy Lab unless otherwise specified.

What should I do to prepare for your visit? Please prepare a clean, quiet space for the house call. Despite the fact that we love your family, friends, neighbors, and pets, your phlebotomist works hard to provide the best care and maintain your privacy. Providing a safe environment for your phlebotomist will help him/her do that. Another way to prepare for having your blood drawn is to make sure you are well hydrated! It is ideal to drink more fluids the day before your blood draw, and to continue to drink water up until your blood is drawn. It is not necessary to drink excessive amounts of water; most sources recommend that adults drink 64 ounces of water per day for good health, which is more than enough for having your blood drawn. Limit caffeine, which acts as a mild diuretic and increases the amount of urine you produce.
-
Who performs the blood draw? Each of our Certified Phlebotomy Technicians is well-trained and has a minimum of five (5) years' continuous experience drawing blood in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting. As part of the lengthy background screening process, criminal records, licenses, education, and employment records are checked. Did you know? The state of Oregon does not require that phlebotomists obtain a license or a certification before they can practice. To us, that's a little frightening.

Does insurance cover this cost? The convenience fee and the fee(s) associated with your medically necessary laboratory test(s) are two different costs: The base convenience fee to have a VeniDirect Certified Mobile Phlebotomist come to your home or business is $49.00 per visit. In most instances, your health insurance carrier will not cover the convenience fee and it will be collected through the website via credit or debit card. This fee is non-refundable. Medically necessary lab testing is generally covered by participating insurers in accordance with the terms of your insurance policy. Please consult with your insurance carrier if you have any questions regarding whether the lab services and/or convenience fee will be covered and whether any co-pays, deductibles, or coinsurance will apply.

Is VeniDirect a laboratory?VeniDirect is not a laboratory. We are a privately owned pay-for-service mobile phlebotomy and specimen collection service. We send a certified phlebotomy technician to your home to collect your samples and deliver them to the laboratory you or your doctor have chosen for testing. NOTE: Laboratory test results are not provided, produced, or sent by VeniDirect LLC or its employees. For lab results, please consult your physician. On request, we can provide the lab location, date and time of sample delivery, and lab phone number.

What Is Your Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy?By booking your appointment, you reserve a space on our calendar that is now unavailable to our other patients. As a courtesy to your fellow patients, please be aware of the following cancellation and rescheduling policy: Cancellations made up to 24 hours before a scheduled appointment via email, text, or phone call will be processed without a penalty. Alternatively, you can log into your VeniDirect account to make the necessary changes. Cancellations made 24 hours or less before an appointment will be subject to a charge of either 100% of reserved service or $50, whichever is greater. This includes appointments where our service provider is unable to access the property, is turned away, or the patient is unavailable at the specified time. In the event that VeniDirect cancels an appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, a new appointment will be scheduled for the patient without penalty. Availability permitting. VeniDirect provides irrevocable, non-tangible services, therefore a "convenience fee" is charged when you book. Except as outlined in our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy, the convenience fee is not refundable. Regardless of the circumstances, once a technician has been dispatched to your home or business, you are not eligible to receive a refund or credit.

What happens if the technician is unable to collect my sample? To ensure that we have the proper equipment on hand, you must notify us in advance if you consider yourself a "difficult draw." In order to avoid hemolysis or clotted specimens, the use of butterfly needles is limited to pediatric patients and patients with very small veins. In addition to being highly trained, our technicians are dedicated to making the experience as pleasant and pain-free as possible for patients. The number of venipuncture attempts per patient during a single visit is limited to four. In rare circumstances, however, they may not be able to collect a sample (difficult draw), in which case you will need to visit your local PSC or make alternate arrangements with your healthcare provider. NOTE: In this instance, the appointment will not be reassigned, rescheduled, or refunded.

How do I get my results?Your provider shares your results with you in the same manner as before. We simply take care of getting your blood drawn and the specimens processed and delivered to the laboratory for testing. Results for labs ordered through Ulta Lab Test can be accessed through your patient portal. SneakPeek Clinical results will be delivered to the email address you provided during your appointment. Note: While our lab partners try to process all tests as quickly as possible, periods of high demand can lead to delayed turnaround times. In addition, there are always some tests that take longer than others for reasons outside of their control, for example, due to shipping delays, sample quality issues, or otherwise inconclusive results. We cannot guarantee a specific turnaround time for travel or other purposes.

Which areas do you serve? We perform blood draws at your home or office in the Portland metro area and the neighboring cities of Vancouver, Beaverton, Gresham, Hillsboro, Milwaukie, Lake Oswego, Oregon City, Fairview, Wood Village, Troutdale, Tualatin, Tigard, West Linn, Battle Ground, Camas, and Washougal. We also offer services outside of the areas listed above. We include up to 40 round trip miles with your order; anything beyond that will be invoiced at $0.69 per mile. Payment must be received before a phlebotomist will be dispatched, otherwise your appointment will be canceled. Example: The phlebotomist travels from the VeniDirect HQ in Portland to your home in Kaiser and back. The round trip distance was 85 miles. Our standard service area covers 40 miles round trip. This leaves 45 miles uncovered. You will be charged an additional mileage fee of $31.05 in this case.
